A Few Family Photos from Uncle Garl's Services

It's still hard to believe that Uncle Garl is gone. I just picture him, Uncle Ralph (Grandma Goldie's brother) and my Dad in Heaven in their cowboy hats talkin' horse tales. In fact, here's a photo of the three of them with a wagon wheel off of the family wagon.
Mom, you know the story, please write in and tell us about it!

February 1972 Uncle Ralph's front yard, Victor, Idaho.

Rick Miller, Vickie Grover and her sons, Carson and Payton

Uncle Jack, Aunt Nelda, Uncle Garth, Aunt Nola
Milan, Uncle Garth and his daughter Pam

Julee's daughter Mandy thought Cousin Rick was awesome!

Kerry, Garland, DeeAnn, Jill & Jill, and others, we need your photos! Please email me!

  1. Wow, that's a tough way to start out my morning! The best story teller, with the greatest memory, of all time! I miss him every day. Thank you for honoring my sweet Dad!

  2. Vickie,
Isn't that the truth! We all miss him too. I feel sorry for the children of the world who never knew what it was like to have an Uncle Garl! On another interesting note, I visited your McKenzie's Facebook photo albums and realized not only are she and my Amanda cousins, they are totally kindred spirits! So many of her photos, poses, hair styles and colors remind me of Mandy. It's like Mandy says of herself, "Well Mom, I'm not the poster child for the "Strength of Youth" pamphlet!" She's my flamingo--so colorful and not afraid to stand out in the crowd, and I love it!

  3. Wonderful blog! Love the picture of Uncle Bill, Uncle Ralph, and Dad. Those were fun times at Uncle Ralph's house (usually just prior to the big Victor 4th of July parade); I felt like Uncle Ralph was the original cowboy; love his cute, smiling face.

  4. Here is the wagon wheel story Uncle Ralph said he still had 2 wheels from the wagon the Thompson traveled in when mother(Goldie)was 2 yrs old and came up here thru Spokane in about 1907 or 08 and Grandmother Thompson carried their money around her neck in a little leather pouch. We came home and bought a trailer and went back to the valley and got them. I still have one of them. Nelda
