Tom and Sarah
Hi Tom Jr. & Sarah (Aloa's son)
I am still learing this new HIGH Tech. stuff, but I did want to reply to you. glad you joined this site. Your Dad came up with the idea and Julee put it into action.I did really enjoy myself for the 2 weeks I was visiting your family. The weather was cold but your mom and I went to the beach every day and walked for a while. I love the ocean in any weather. Then to have the long visits with your mom was a real joy and to be with her on her 65th birthday was fun. I can't imagine having 3 of my kids born on the same day. That is what my mom had. She had twins and the her baby(your mom) all born on Jan. 9th. Anyway it was fun to spent time with your family. Dawn came over 2 times. It is good to be home. Molly and I are doing fine. How are things there with you two?Take care. Love Aunt Nola
Don't Bungee Jump Naked!
Here's a clip from Jeanne Robertson, a classy southern lady who shares good clean fun! If you've heard her before, you know she refers to her husband as "Left Brain." To understand why, be sure to catch her "Never send a man to the grocery store" video. She has several posted on youtube. Ya gotta love her!

This town of Nanaimo in Canada is known for more than just their naked bungee jumping. Here's my Mom's (Nelda) recipe for the yummy Nanaimo Bars. They claim that these bars have no calories during Bathtub Racing Week or Christmas Season! They are good. Here's a site that has several variations of the original recipe. http://www.nanaimo-info.com/gpage.html
We've always used the instant vanilla pudding, but you can purchase the custard in Canada. Maybe you can pick some up while you are there for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver!
(I wish!)

Cooking Tip of the Week!
Today's cooking tip comes from Merryweather (Nelda) on cutting the perfect brownie:
Have you ever made brownies and destroyed them as soon as you cut them? This usually happens because brownies are wonderful when they are warm and everyone wants a quick bite. No matter how delicious your brownies taste, they will look just awful if you cut them too soon and with the wrong utensil. They most certainly cannot be brought to someone's house for dessert because they look like someone broke them apart with their hands. If you are a brownie lover, you will most definitely appreciate this wonderful trick that will guarantee perfect brownies every time. You will even want to show them off, I promise! Here are the steps...
First, bake your brownies according to the directions.
Once they are done, let them cool for about 15 - 20 minute.
Cut them using a PLASTIC knife. They will cut perfectly with this utensil.
Remove carefully with a spatula.
Enjoy with a big glass of cold milk!

Update from Nelda--Prayers for Billy Please!
Here's Billy snuggled up in the afghan his Bam just made for him!
Hi, it's Tuesday evening. I just came home from visiting my 41 year old grandson-Billy Gust (Bill Gust Jr's oldest son). He was diagnosed with leukemia a few days before Christmas. He has been in the hospital since December 20, but came home for a few days. He has to go Thursday for bone marrow testing and Friday for colon testing, then he'll start over again on chemo sessions. He looks pretty good, but he's not feeling very good. Please remember him in your prayers.

Update From Nola
Hi again..
It's so great to hear from the younger generation. I am still trying to figure this blog thing out.. So just bare with me.I did just get back from a very nice visit to FL. Spent time with Aloa & Tom & Ocean. How I love all three. We had a real hard wind storm here last week.Misty lost the hay barn and I lost my dogs(Mollys)kennel. The barn flew onto the neigbors yard and hit 2 cars. So we are seeing how homeowners insurance works.I am excited to get back to my MTC work. I go back tomorrow with my missionary. Thanks to all you family.

A Tribute to Dan Zohner
While searching for a photo of the Tetons, I came across this blog for Dan Zohner. He lived here in Paul,Idaho, not far from us. He was Samuel Miller's sister Polly's son. I remember calling him when Uncle Garl passed away. He didn't think he'd be able to go to his service, but he commented that he didn't think it would be long before he would be seeing Uncle Chet and Uncle Garl. He knew he had a bad heart, he said his doctors told him it was just worn out. He passed away just 3 months later. He was quite the genealogist and had lots of family photos and history. I thought you might like to check out the blog; a tribute to him.
