Here's the follow-up on that trip to Mexico!

Auntie Nola said...
I had waited 73 years to go to Mexico, and the wait was worth it. It was a trip I'll never forget for many reasons. Reason one I was with my family and what a fun family they are. It was Misty, Dan, Erik and Brian. We shared a very nice condo on the 6th floor of a very modern complex. Reason two, Nelda had been warning me about the political problems going on there so I was armed with my pepper spray. I was looking behind every cactus(oh how I loved those big cacti). Try as we might we did not see or encounter any bandits. I guess no one wanted families with kids and grandmas.Reason three, the biggest earthquake ever, in that part on Mexico. It was a 7.2 the center was 50 miles from us. We felt it very clear. I have never been in one that size before. We had them in Alaska and several in Japan as we travelled there, but none in the sevens. Security ask us all to go to the ocean away from the buildings then they told us to go away from the ocean (didn't want BIG wave to get us)we went to the front of the complex waited. Language was a little problem.. No one was talking slow for US foreigners. No problems at all. The rest of the stay was beautiful and uneventful. As we listened to others talk about it, the stories get better but we just enjoyed the moments.Lots of reasons to not forget but just to enjoy life is the best reason.
